Clear Your Acne With A Healthy Diet

Acne can be embarrassing and even debilitating to the sufferer. And with so many different treatments available for acne, finding the right one can be confusing and frustrating.

However, acne can be treated and the best starting point is your diet. Breakouts can often indicate that there is something internally wrong within our bodies – this can be anything form hormones to dramatic insulin spikes due to excess sugar consumption.

Here are a few eating habits that will help you clear your acne once and for all:

#1 – Eat whole natural food. Pre-packaged foods, fast food and microwave meals are filled with chemicals and ingredients that are not good for us. Many of these chemicals and additives can irritate our systems and cause a variety of problems from lack of energy to weight gain to acne.

To treat acne eat as natural and whole as possible. Eat plenty of green vegetables and fruit. These will provide necessary antioxidants to help keep your body and skin healthy. Eat whole natural grains such as brown rice and pasta. These will provide much needed vitamins and fiber which will help flush out toxins from your body.

The key is to stick to the freshest foods possible. If it’s packaged and includes additives or preservatives then it’s not whole or natural.

#2 – Eat yogurt. Live, natural yogurt not the sugary processed variety can be very beneficial to the digestive tract. A healthy digestive tract can mean healthy, clear skin. Opt for at least one serving of natural yogurt a day. Avoid any processed or sugary types.

#3 – Drink plenty of water. Water is a great way to rid your body of built up toxins. Drinking plenty of water also means that your skin will remain hydrated. Hydrated skin often looks healthier and fresher.

#4 – Avoid excess dairy. Eating too much dairy can mean an over consumption of hormones. When you drink milk or eat cheese you are taking in hormones from the cow which was the original source of the dairy product. We all know that excess hormones can wreak havoc in our system. It may also amount to increased acne. Eat these foods in moderation.

#5 – Avoid excess meat. Similar to eating too much dairy, eating too much meat will mean your body takes in hormones from the animal source. Most of us eat too much meat and a serving should only be equal to the palm of your hand. Aim for eating a few vegetarian meals per week. This will help you increase your vegetable intake and minimize the amount of hormones in your system.

Acne can be treated by diet. The trick is to stick to eat lots of vegetables and fruit, whole natural foods, a little live yogurt, drink plenty of water and avoid excess consumption of dairy or meat. It will take a little time to see results but a diet similar to the above will help both your body and skin remain at its best.
